Alternative for exhibition booth

To meet at the CiA booth on exhibitions is an important discussion forum for the CAN community. Due to the postponement and cancellation of tradeshows other options need to be considered and offered. Individual online meetings are an opportunity to substitute talks on fairgrounds.

After the canceling of the SPS 2021 by the organizer, CiA established an open discussion forum to provide an alternative to meet CiA representatives. In the meantime, also the Agritechnica 2022 has been postponed to 2023. Additionally, CiA is going to cancel its participation in other tradeshows, e.g. the Interlift, scheduled for 2022. This is why, CiA prolongs its open discussion form on every Friday. The first one in 2022, will take place on January 21.

Reiner Zitzmann, CEO of CiA, said: “We were keen on meeting developers, decision makers, and sales people again on-site and to keep the social network of CAN experts vivid and growing. Unfortunately, the coronavirus stroke back and makes in the current situation, personal meetings inappropriate, and tradeshows just not possible.”

In times of the Covid-19 pandemic and the challenging circumstances, CiA provides also other direct communication with CAN interested parties. Besides the established CAN Info Mail and CiA Member News email services and CiA’s social media channels (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Youtube), there is the opportunity to schedule individual online meetings. There, it is possible, to discuss specific topics in detail like on a fairground. CiA provides this service (CiA’s open discussion forum) on every Friday from 11:00 to 12:30 UTC+1. To be part of these meetings, just join via Zoom:

We like to label each Friday forum with a topic. Of course, this does not limit the topics, which you like to discuss. It indicates just that a CiA expert on the scheduled topic is available.
  • On January 21, the main topic is CAN XL.
  • On January 28, the main topic is generic CAN bootloader.
  • On February 4, the main topic is CANopen FD.
