Technical Editor (m/f/d)

Especially for the CiA publications, we are looking for a technical editor (m/f/d) to support us in the following tasks, as soon as possible:

  • Editorial care of our technical magazines CAN Newsletter (Online)
  • Editing of professional technical articles and press releases for online and print media in English language
  • Researching and writing of professional articles and press releases in German and English language
  • Creating technical content for our websites in English language
  • Coordination of CiA’s social media sites
Your qualification:

  • Excellent knowledge of English; word-perfect
  • Knowledge of automation engineering (preferably study)
  • Experiences in conceptual and editorial work in technical area
  • Experience with content management systems such as TYPO3 is an advantage
  • Very good communication skills, confidential appearance, flexibility, high organizing skills, self-initiative, ability to cope under stress and to work in a team
  • Willingness to travel

Technical Manager (m/f/d)

As soon as possible, we are looking for a team-oriented, structured and independently working Technical Manager, who will support us in the following areas:

  • Management of international working CiA groups, in German and English (content preparation and follow-up, moderation)
  • Development and maintenance of CiA specifications in MS Office, according to the CiA house styles
  • Participation in international standardization groups of ISO/IEC, as well as in national mirror committees
  • Maintenance and further development of international standards (ISO/IEC)
  • Presentation of CAN-related, technical content at conferences, seminars and trade fairs, in German and English
  • Presentation of CAN-related technical content in the form of technical articles for CiA publications or third parties in German and English
  • Conformance assessment of CANopen and CANopen FD devices in the CiA test center
  • Support for other ad-hoc tasks at CiA office
Your qualification:

  • Higher education/university degree in a technical field; preferably electrical engineering, automation technology, mechatronics or computer science
  • Very good knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written
  • Confident and trusting appearance in front of audience/customers
  • High degree of self-organization combined with a reliable, accurate and independent way of working
  • First experience in the field of "embedded machine communication" or hardware-related programming (microcontroller) would be desirable; experience with CAN, CANopen or J1939 would be advantageous

Office Assistant (m/f/d)

We are looking for a team-oriented, structured, and committed Office Assistant, to support us in the following tasks, as soon as possible:

  • Manage technical working group meetings (invitation, meeting facilities, post-processing)
  • Edit technical documents in Word and PowerPoint, according to CiA house style
  • Support in the area of customer relation management (e.g. keep contacts up-to-date)
  • Serve as information source on CiA activities (group meetings, events, trainings, etc.)
  • Assist in the area of public relations (contribute to CiA’s social media channels, website, newsletter, etc.)
  • Assist the organization of CiA events and conferences
  • Support in the preparation and execution of tradeshow appearances
  • Work on other ad-hoc projects as defined by the management
Your qualification:

  • Experience in office and administrative work
  • Proficient with common office software, such as Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Very good written and spoken English and German skills
  • Very good communication skills, confidential appearance, flexibility, reliable, high organizing skills, self-initiative, ability to cope under stress and to work in a team, holistic thinking, and the ability to work independently
  • Basic understanding for technical content appreciated
